First Round of Voting Ends Feb. 10

CMT and the Academy of Country Music have just opened up the first round of fan voting for the coveted new artist of the year trophy at this year’s massive ACM Awards show.

Celebrating its 50th year, the ACM Awards will be held on April 19 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the biggest venue in the show’s history.

Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr, Sam Hunt, Kip Moore, Thomas Rhett, Chase Rice, Cole Swindell and Dan + Shay are the nominees for the first round, and fans can vote now on VoteACM.com and voteacm.CMT.com through Feb. 10 at 6 p.m. ET.

The final three nominees will then be announced, and a second round of voting will begin on April 8, lasting through the day of the show. The winner will be announced during the live telecast.

This is the seventh year the ACM new artist of the year has been determined by fan voting. Not sure your vote really counts? Check out what last year’s winner Justin Moore had to say about it:
